Thrills and spills, scorers with unusual names, last minute winners…it all happens in the Junior Cup!

NWCFA MABON SCAFFOLDING JUNIOR CHALLENGE CUP R1
CPD Henllan 2 CPD Cefni 3 (aet)
Cefni secured an attractive home tie against Llandudno Amateurs in the last 16 of the Junior Cup after edging a thrilling first round encounter at Henllan last Saturday.
It was a long trip down the A55 for the islanders to Denbighshire to face opponents who play in North Wales Coast East Division One.
And there was a bad start for Cefni from North Wales Coast West Division One as they went one-down after two minutes from a dubious penalty converted by Harry Payne.
Despite the setback Cefni were shaping as the better team and were rewarded for their efforts when top-scorer Dion Jones equalised on 28 minutes via a 20-yard snapshot.
The visitors had a few more chances before half time but were unable to convert.
After the break Dion Jones netted again, but the Cefni faithful’s joy was short-lived as the referee disallowed for offside.
The Anglesey team pressed for that second goal and it eventually arrived through that man Dion Jones in the closing minutes.
However, well beyond the 90, a second Henllan penalty was awarded and Billy Wilde netted to force extra time.
Chances fell for both sides in the added 30 minutes, but it was Cefni who bagged the winner when a Dion Jones corner was headed home in bullet-like fashion by centre-half Henry Caldecott.
Bethesda Rovers 2 Llanystumdwy 3
A five-goal cracker saw Llanystumdwy recover from 2-0 down to snatch a dramatic win in added time.
Jamie Roberts gave Rovers a 20th minute lead and it was looking good for the hosts when Jamie Patterson made it two with 62 on the clock.
Daniel Rhinds launched the away team comeback by halving the arrears on 65 minutes.
Owen Pritchard levelled things up on 87 minutes and sub Iwan Richards settled it with a deciding goal on 96.
As Llan manager Sion Parry remarked on social media after the game: “We always do things the hard way!”
CPD Gaerwen 4 Glan Conwy 3
Tomos Williams notched a 73rd minute winner to round off a superb Gaerwen display at Lon Groes.
Robert Boyes put the Anglesey team in front on 11 minutes, but a Cameron West double after 19 and 30 gave Glan Conwy of the North Wales Coast East the advantage.
However, a Dylan Jones penalty squared things up and before half time, Sion Jones made it 3-2 to the islanders.
West completed his hat-trick on the hour and it could have gone either way at that stage, but Williams concocted the all-important clincher for Gaerwen.
Holyhead Town 2 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 5 (aet)
A commendable performance from Blaenau who led 2-0, were pegged back to 2-2, but took the honours in extra time.
Aled Ellis and Sion Roberts scored in the first half to give the Quarrymen a handy lead.
Callum Batsford hit back for the Harbourmen on 56 and when Paul Williams levelled after 63 it was truly game on.
However, no more goals were scored within the 90 minutes, and in extra time Joe Dukes Morgan (penalty), Sion Roberts and David Kian Jones all struck to send Blaenau through.
Llangoed and District 8 Prestatyn Wanderers 1

A happy afternoon for Llangoed as they stormed into the last 16 to set up an Anglesey derby against Gaerwen.
Jay Finter (2, 1 penalty), Llion Roberts and Carwyn Williams all found the net in the first period to give the Anglesey hosts a commanding 4-0 lead.

There was no let-up from Llangoed in the second half as Finter completed a hat-trick and Sushant Raj Thapa, Destiny Light and Phil Owen combined to bring up the eight.
Jonathan Mee pocketed a consolation for Wanderers.
Penrhyn Bay 4 Rhyl All Stars 3
Penrhyn Bay had to produce a stirring fightback to squeeze into the next round of the Junior Cup at the expense of battlers Rhyl All Stars.
The visitors led 2-0 at half time courtesy of a Kyle Lally double, but Bay are a different proposition these days and eventually emerged victorious in the second stanza.
Man of the match Stanley Farrell netted twice for the hosts and Aaron Gregson also made the scoresheet, but Lally completed his treble to make it 3-3 with minutes remaining.
A coup de grace was needed, and Corey Roberts provided it in the shape of a 93rd minute winner.
Rhos United 8 CPD Caer Clwyd 0
Scott Court was a hat-trick hero in an emphatic Junior Cup success for Rhos.
Billy Bibby (2), Phemmy Allison, Tommy Edwards and Matthew Russell combined to provide the rest of the home goals in a tie which was expected to finish much closer.
