After kicking off the season with four successive losses Llanfairfechan really came good in the Intermediate Cup at Aberffraw today.
Glyn Bellfield’s side had been performing much better than their scores have suggested and in this first round encounter on Anglesey they picked up their just rewards.
Facing a team currently bottom of the tier 4 North Wales Coast Premier Division West, Llanfair were determined to dominate and put their stamp on the tie.
And they carried out their mission efficiently, creating lots of chances and reducing efforts from Aberffraw.
Despite the visitors having many opportunities, both sides went in at half time 0-0.
The second half started as the first ended,
Llanfairfechan dominated the ball and increased goal-scoring chances with their intense play.
The deadlock was broken just after the hour mark when Elliot Croston whipped in a deadly cross to find Cory Young to make it 1-0.
The second came soon after as Daniel Hughes found Tom Croston who slotted into the bottom corner.
Hughes got his first of the game as he collected the ball on the left wing, cut in and caught the keeper off guard to find the net.
Number four came in the 85th minute when Jamie Haggas found Elliot Croston, who calmly put the ball in the net, getting the goal he deserved for the effort put in.
Finally, the fifth goal came close to 90 minutes when Iwan Jones was taken down in the area and Hughes put away his second of the game.
