Sri Lankan wonder Sampath Perera reaches 300 wickets for Prestatyn Cricket Club

1ST XI SECOND DIVISION

Sri Lankan ace Sampath Perera passed 300 club wickets for Prestatyn in a losing cause at Beach Close.
The 40-year-old all-rounder, in his sixth season with the North Wales side, moved up to 302 victims with four dismissals against Hightown on Saturday.
Perera has picked up 298 league wickets and four in cups for Prestatyn, including 23 five-for’s and a best return of 9-10.
He is on 45 wickets for the current season, but will do well to beat his best of 68 in the 2014 campaign.
Invited to bat, Hightown set 186 all out, Shafiqullah Kamal 5-58 and Perera 4-39 for the hosts.
Prestatyn were then rolled over for just 76, Sheil Sethi 28, Sharoon Siraj 6-29 for the away team.

1ST XI ECB PREMIER LEAGUE
New Brighton (9) 302-8 dec Colwyn Bay (5) 105-8
Bay came off very much second best in a one-sided draw at Rake Lane last Saturday.
The visitors must have regretted their decision to put New Brighton into bat as the hosts amassed a mammoth 302-8 declared off 55 overs, Dan Cooke hitting 123.
Ryan Holtby picked up 3-55 and George Johansen 3-69 for the Welsh side.
In reply, Bay clung on at a painstaking 105-8 off 53, Evan Withe and Adam Campion joint top-scorers on 22 apiece, Sukhjit Singh 6-27 from 20 for the home team.
2ND XI PREMIER DIVISION
Colwyn Bay 2nd XI (23) 204-4 Formby 2nd XI (6) 201-7 dec
Third-place Colwyn Bay seconds provided some much needed cheer for North Wales with a cracking home win against Formby.
Shay Williams snared a brilliant 5-60 as the Merseyside visitors were limited to 201-7 declared after electing to bat, George Evans hitting 82.
Skipper Tom Roberts then struck a superb 78 not out as the hosts made it to 204-4 in 37 overs to seal a 23-6, six-wicket victory.
Opener Dan Russell made 46 and shared in a third-wicket stand of 88 with Roberts.

Navneet Kaimal took a tremendous 6-25 off 11.3 overs as Prestatyn seconds celebrated a five-wicket success at Ruskin Drive.
Jaden Ablett also claimed an impressive 2-12 from eight as St Helens Town were skittled out for 93 after being put in.
The visitors hit back with 94-5, Ashley Jones 30, Isaac Sheridan 22 no and Kaimal 20 to seal a fine result.
