Brymbo and Colwyn Bay avoid main big guns in Welsh Cricket Cup quarter-finals

Both Brymbo and Colwyn Bay have avoided the ‘big guns’ in the Cricket Welsh Cup quarter-finals.
Bay will host South Wales Premier Cricket League Division Two side Cowbridge in the last eight, while the Steelmen travel to either Llandysul or Ammanford.
Elsewhere in the draw, Newport and Swansea, third and first in the top South Wales Premier Division One respectively, have drawn each other.
Meanwhile Cardiff, also from SWP Division One, face a trip to Ynysygerwm.
Colwyn Bay, who play in the Liverpool Competition ECB 1st XI Premier League, defeated Denbigh on Saturday in the North Zone 2 final.
Brymbo beat Gresford in the North Zone 1 final, but the Steelmen lost the leadership of the North Wales League Premier Division on Saturday when Northop handed them a first defeat of the campaign.
The Wrexham area team’s potential last eight opponents are Llandysul, currently fourth in South Wales Cricket Association Division One, or Ammanford, seventh in South Wales Premier Division One.
All ties are scheduled for Sunday 9th July (or before) and there are 3 reserve dates of 16th, 23rd, 30th with an absolute dead-line date of August 4.
Clubs are expected to mutually agree the date for the tie – without an agreement the tie shall be played on the scheduled date.
Should any tie have a different date (change of date) than Sunday 9th July then the competition organiser must be notified.
