Two members of the highly successful Bangor University women’s football squad have joined Llangefni Town for the closing weeks of the 2022-23 season.

Goalkeeper Mia Gleave and defender Beth Topping will add their talents to Dan Gregg’s pool of players at Cae Bob Parry.

Llangefni are having a great season, currently sitting third in the North Wales Women’s League, and the additions of Gleave and Topping will only make them stronger.

Bangor Uni have just won the BUCS Northern 4A title and doubled up by landing the Varsity championship.

Captain Abigail Jones, also a Llangefni player, believes key players Mia and Beth will be big assets to the Anglesey side.

Of Mia, a zoology student, Abigail said: “Mia’s brought a lot to the team on and off the pitch – with some top class saves helping us pull off some great wins. She’s also brought security and confidence to the squad, two assets that have been invaluable to the team as we progress. “

As for Beth, a centre back studying sociology, criminology and criminal justice, Abi added: “Beth’s experience as a CB has been beneficial to the team, and allowed us to have a regular formation, which has been valuable in tough games and as we progress.”
