Emily Ridges scored the only goal of a tight Anglesey derby played in awful weather conditions at Lon Isallt.
One of only two North Wales Women’s League matches played on Sunday, Amlwch claimed the win and stay sixth, three points ahead of fellow islanders Trearddur.
Amlwch were low in numbers but high in determination. In the end, they dealt with the strong winds better.
With only 12 players available due to other commitments, the visitors knew they had to go out fighting against opponents who are always hard to beat on home turf.
Trearddur were without their top-two scorers Gail Paterson-Manning and Ashleigh Jones, but did have 16 players on call.
The only goal arrived in the 19th minute, Tesni Hughes with the assist as Ridges netted her first of the season, breaking through the Bay defence and scoring a blinder.
The rest of the game was scrappy and tough. Amlwch had more chances in the second half, but Trearddur kept battling until the end and could perhaps feel aggrieved they did not pick up a point.
