Amlwch’s otherwise happy day was marred by a broken ankle suffered by Cari Wyn Rowlands in the early stages at Lon Bach.
The team wishes Cari Wyn a speedy recovery. It is a great shame when a player has to suffer a bad injury at any time, but even more so this early in the season.
Amlwch certainly did Cari proud as they went on to make it back-to-back wins under new manager Martin Jones.
This all-Anglesey derby saw the hosts break the deadlock in the 17th minute when sub Holly Beddall’s shot was kept out by Georgia Magee, but Shannon Thomas put away the rebound.
Sara Furlong provided the assist for the second goal seven minutes later, Shannon Thomas again the scorer.
It was a good day for the Thomas’s as on 35 minutes Lowri Alaw Thomas made it 3-0 with a back-post finish.
Trearddur Bay never gave up though, Freya Davies pulling one back for them before the break.
Half-time: 3-1
Amlwch made more or less sure of the points seven minutes into the second half, when Lowri Alaw Thomas was put through on goal and fired past the keeper for her brace.
As for Trearddur Bay, they put up a good battle and were missing a number of players, having travelled with the bare 11.
Chris Davies’ side already have a win under their belts and no doubt they will come on for facing a more experienced Amlwch outfit.
Amlwch: Ceri Pritchard, Shannon Thomas, Emma Roberts, Cerys Gadd, Kim Lodge (Emily Ridges 52), Carol Lewis, Cari Wyn Rowlands (Holly Beddall 11), Anna Roberts, Efa Jones, Lowri Alaw Thomas, Sara Furlong.
