Young newcomer Lowri Thomas marked her senior debut for Amlwch with a player of the match performance and a hat-trick in Wednesday night’s friendly.
The 16-year-old from Llannerchymedd, an outstanding prospect as a junior, struck three times at Lon Bach against newly-formed Llangefni.
Amlwch were in difficulty a few weeks ago after several players left the club, but those that remained have been joined by a number of promising new faces who have steadied the ship.
Tonight brought their first friendly of pre-season.
Skipper Carol Lewis said on social media: “First friendly done – a 7-0 win against Llangefni ladies. Great effort by both teams.
“Proud of all the girls tonight, first game together and to think we had 5 players to start off with. We held on and so glad we did.”
Adding to Lowri Thomas’ treble was a double from star midfielder Cerys Gadd, while Shannon Thomas and Cari Wyn also made the scoresheet.
Next up for Amlwch is a home game against Denbigh Town on Sunday, August 8.
