Who are North Wales’ most prolific hotshots in 2022-23?

It is time for another update on who are the leading hitmen in North Wales senior football this season.

Y Glannau net-buster Harrison Bellis is now on 49 goals, two ahead of long-time leader Corrig McGonigle of Bangor 1876 on 47, with Trearddur Bay’s Asa Thomas coming up fast on the rails with 43.

Harrison Bellis (CPD Y Glannau) 49
League: 32 Cups: 17 Appearances: 22

He may be playing at two tiers below Corrig, but to score 49 goals in just 22 games at the age of 21 is a phenomenal feat by Harrison regardless of the level competing at.
The young striker has notched 12 goals in his last four matches and has pocketed seven hat-tricks this term, including a seven, a six, a five and a four. * Harrison’s stats have now been amended after a recount and discussion with the player.

Corrig McGonigle (Bangor 1876) 47
League: 30 Cups: 17 Appearances: 26

Corrig looked odds-on to be the first to 50 but he has scored in just one of his last five matches.
Bangor 1876 have been enduring a tough spell in general, but it surely won’t be long before Corrig is back to his prolific self.

Asa Thomas (Trearddur Bay) 43
League: 31 Cups: 12 Appearances: 24

Asa is chasing all sorts of landmarks this season.
The Trearddur machine is now on 625 in his career, meaning he will equal the late and great Tommy Welsh’s all-time North Wales coast record of 631 when he gets six more.
Asa’s 43 goals also have him well ahead in the Bob Brodie Trophy, handed out annually for the top goalscorer in Anglesey senior football.

Sam Giles (Acton) 38
League: 35 Cups: 3 Appearances: 17

Sam has scored more league goals than anyone else in North Wales football.
He is part of a goal crazy Acton side which recently became the first to score 100 in league games this season in North Wales.

Conner Kendrick (Ruabon Rovers) 37
League: 24 Cups: 13 Appearances: 20

Brilliant marksman who has scored lots of goals at tiers 2, 3 and 4 and is now starring in tier 5 with ambitious Ruabon Rovers.
Thirty-seven goals in just 20 outings is a fantastic return.

Aaron Rogers (Llandudno Amateurs) 31
League: 24 Cups: 7 Appearances: 23

Has formed a magnificent up front partnership with Joe Jones which had delivered 59 goals so far.
Scored for the Amateurs in a brilliant NWCFA Junior Cup semi-final win at Cemaes Bay which means the Llandudno side will meet Abergele in the showpiece.
Known as Azz. He is an Azz-tonishing marksman.

Connor Owen (Gwalchmai) 29
League: 19 Cups: 10 Appearances: 23

Still just 17, Connor is one off the 30 goals mark for tier 4 Gwalchmai this season.
This lad is full of confidence and skill and possesses an uncanny knack of getting into goal scoring positions.

Andrew Swarbrick (Ruabon Rovers) 29
League: 7 Cups: 22 Appearances: 19

Chirk Cricket Club star Andrew has also been a gifted goalscorer in the North Wales circuit for many years.
Former clubs include Denbigh Town and Cefn Druids, whom he represented in the 2011-12 Welsh Cup final in a 2-0 loss to The New Saints.

Joe Jones (Llandudno Amateurs) 28
League: 19 Cups: 9 Appearances: 23

Joe is banging them in here, there and everywhere.
He’s the top scorer in the Rhyl and District Sunday League and has put away 28 goals in just 23 games for Llandudno Amateurs.

Kallum Pierce (Aston Park Rangers/Hawarden Rangers/) 27
League: 23 Cups: 4 Appearances: 19

After a short spell with Hawarden Rangers, he is now back at Aston Park where he started the season on fire.
No doubt Rangers are delighted to have him back on board as he certainly knows where the goal is.

David Forbes (Holywell Town) 26
League: 14 Cups: 12 Appearances: 36

How about this man!
Joint second highest scorer in the Cymru North on 14 league goals behind Dan Atkins of Prestatyn Town (15) and 26 goals in all competitions for the Wellmen.
Forbes, 34, whose previous clubs include Cefn Druids, Connah’s Quay Nomads, Rhyl and Runcorn Town is having a fantastic season for Johnny Haseldin’s side.
