NORTH WALES WOMEN’S LEAGUE REPORTS – SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27
(more in-depth individual reports to follow)

Amlwch Town 5 Trearddur Bay 2

Tesni Hughes notched a hat-trick as Amlwch came out on top in Sunday’s Anglesey derby at Lon Bach.

Playing a lovely passing game throughout the first half, Cerys Gadd handed the hosts an eighth-minute lead before Hughes made it 2-0 on 18, latching onto a ball lofted over the defence by Jo Bramwell.

Heidi Sanderson pulled one back via a free kick to give Trearddur some hope for the second half.

Hughes made it 3-1 in 59th minute as she capitalised on a through ball from Gadd, but in the difficult weather conditions Bay reduced the arrears again when the experienced Gail Paterson-Manning found the net.

Amlwch came roaring back to clinch the points.

An Ellie Jones shot was deflected into the path of Hughes, who fired in for her hat-trick and sixth goal of the season.

Sara Furlong scored an absolute beauty – she doesn’t do tap-ins…ever! Picture: GETHIN JONES

Then a fantastic long range effort from Sara Furlong made it 5-2.

Amlwch had several other chances, but Trearddur often defended well.

CPDM Bangor 1876 3 Denbigh Town 0

Ella Jones of CPDM Bangor 1876 takes a corner at Nantporth

Ten wins out of 10 for Bangor 1876 with 77 goals scored, just three conceded and seven clean sheets in a row.

Today brought certainly one of their tougher games, with Denbigh sitting third and having led the table until recently, and next Sunday could be even harder for Aron Griffith’s side when they host second-place NFA.

Ceri Lois, Elin Jones and Lisa Thomas were on target against Denbigh, with keeper Rebecca Elliott making it 600 minutes plus without conceding a league goal.

A delighted winning manager Griffith said: “Absolutely over the moon with that result against an experienced Denbigh side.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate our team for playing beautiful football today with us also scoring some good goals. We battled hard and fully deserved that win.

Elin Jones (15) takes a throw for CPDM Bangor 1876

“All the effort and commitment we’ve being putting into training over the last couple of months is paying off on the pitch and it shows why we are where we are.

“I’m buzzing after that performance today and the team should be very proud.

“We’re looking forward to next weekend’s game and another tough match against NFA.”

Flint Town United 0 NFA 6

Emily Jones struck three times for NFA

Plenty of hat-tricks around today and Emily Jones of NFA was another to deliver a treble in her team’s emphatic win at the Essity Stadium.
Jones struck on 30, 45 and 62 minutes and the visitors were three-up before she grabbed her first.

Zoe Stopford scored twice in the opening 12 minutes and top-scorer Sade Benjamin put away her 13th of the season before the break. Stella Windsor provided two first-half assists.

Llangefni Town 8 Llanfairfechan Town 1

Ffion Thomas (blue – right) is up to six goals for the season after her double for Llangefni against Llanfairfechan

Jen Cox made it back-to-back hat-tricks and became the first Llangefni player to score four goals in a game as Dan Gregg’s side demolished Llanfairfechan at Cae Bob Parry.

Cefni edged up to sixth in the table with a fourth win in six league outings – their only defeats being by a single goal – and Cox took her personal tally up to 12.

“Cox in the Box” has already matched last season’s goals total of 12 and has now struck 24 times in 22 league and cup appearances for the team (that’s according to our records which differ to the Cymru Football App).

Sunday’s tussle saw Sadie Richards convert an early penalty for Llanfair, but Cox soon equalised.

Skipper Nia Ginnelly made it 2-1 on 17 minutes and Cox added another after 21.

The in-form Ffion Thomas, who is really on a great run, scored twice before the break and Cox completed her hat-trick in added time. Half-time: 6-1.

In the second half, a Cara Hughes assist set up Cox for her fourth and strike partner Ellie Coulson rounded off the scoring with her seventh goal this term.

Llanystumdwy 5 Northop Hall 2

Grace Mpuku

Amazing Grace Mpuku bagged a hat-trick – including one absolute stunner – as Llanystumdwy continued their resurgence by sending Northop Hall packing with a 5-2 defeat.

Sarah O’Hara and Jo Cynan also netted for the hosts, Hannah Williams and Gemma Williams replying.
