Who leads way in North Wales women’s football early-season goals table ?

No surprise to see last season’s Goalden Girl Rosie Hughes topping the early standings of the 2022-23 North Wales women’s football goal scorers table.

Rosie, who hit a phenomenal 36 league goals and 48 in all competitions for Wrexham last term, has already banged in eight in just two matches of the current campaign.

Plenty of familiar names just in behind Rosie, including Sade Benjamin, NFA’s top scorer last season with 26 goals.

Kirstie Kural of Connah’s Quay Nomads, who put away 26 from midfield in 2021-22, has already struck back-to-back hat-tricks in the present season.

Regular names on the scoresheets, Maddie Williams of Llandudno, Pwllheli livewire Lois Thomas and NFA’s Emily Jones are all on six goals to date.

Good to see one or two new names in the early list too, such as Freya Simonds of newcomers Llanfairfechan, and teenager Esra Gunes, a hat-trick star on her debut for Denbigh.
