First four matches of Rhyl and District Sunday League season produce total of 30 goals

RHYL AND DISTRICT SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE MATCHDAY 1 – OCTOBER 2, 2022
Millbank 2 (Alex Hall pen, Matt Toole)
Rhyl Rangers 5 (Macca Lewis 3, Kallum Darroch, Tom Dodd)
Macca Lewis started the season in typical style with a hat-trick for newly-named Rhyl Rangers, formerly Six Bells.
Millbank made a good start and led 2-0, but had two players sent off and were eventually ground to defeat.
The Mill shaped the better early on and were rewarded with a well-taken penalty from Alex Hall.
Rangers started to press well until a counter attack from Millbank led to a tap-in for Matt Toole.
On the 30-minute mark Millbank went down to 10 men after a straight red for James Weaver.
Rangers capitalised and became dominant, creating chance after chance.

Ten minutes before half time, Lewis was brought down in the penalty area and a spot-kick was given.
Lewis dispatched it nicely for 2-1.
Tom Dodd then found Lewis who rifled into the top corner to make it 2-2 just before the break.
Rangers were in control at the start of the second half, and it was only a matter of time before they got rewarded.
Lewis was the man to strike again, completing his hat-trick.
Just after that Millbank went down to 9 men with Liam Groves seeing red.
Rangers were now in total command and Dodd made it 4-2 with a nice finish into the bottom corner.
Kallum Darroch added a fifth with a very good volley into the top corner.
New signings Barry Roche and Ash Andrews played out of their skin for Rangers, who will be delighted with this opening day result.
