Amlwch Town 2 Menai Bridge Tigers 1

A strong second half display was not enough to save Menai Bridge from defeat at Lon Bach.

Bridge could have taken an early lead when Callum Thomas’s low cross found Sion Hogan, but his close-range effort came back off the crossbar.

Amlwch took the lead when Jack Griffiths capitalised on some hesitant defending, stealing the ball for a well-taken side-footed finish.

The first half was disrupted with several stoppages for injuries, and the home side doubled their lead with the last kick of seven minutes of added time.

A scuffed corner kick was poorly cleared by the Tigers defence, the ball falling to Adam Taylor whose low shot found its way through bodies into the bottom corner.

Manager Aaron Rowlands changed the shape of the visitors at half-time and Tigers came out all guns blazing, pulling a goal back within two minutes of the restart.

Goalkeeper Callum Tipton’s long kick downfield bounced into the path of Hogan, who nodded the ball over Town custodian Luke Bansal.

Hogan had the ball in the back of the net again, running onto Craig Roberts’ pass to convert a one-on-one; however the referee ruled it out for offside having initially awarded a goal.

Tigers threw everything forward in search of another goal but were denied by determined defending from Amlwch, and Bansal pulling off an incredible save from Owain Roberts’ shot that was destined for the top corner.

Gwalchmai 2 CPD Mynydd Llandegai 1

Third-place Gwalchmai had to work hard to overcome a Mynydd side in their first game under new manager Iwan “Pij” Morris.

Teenage sensation Connor Owen handed Gwalch a 52nd minute lead with his 14th goal of the season.

However, Leon Buckland’s fine finish brought the visitors level in the 66th minute.

The winner arrived on 77 minutes when Declan Jones headed in a Tom Kelly corner.

Gwalchmai goalkeeper Kenny Hughes’ heroics were a key factor in his team getting all three points.

CPD Llannerchymedd 0 Talysarn Celts 3

Celts hit top spot after a three-goal triumph at Tan Parc.

Glyn Hughes-Thomas delivered a double and Luke Baum was also on target, all the goals arriving in the second half.

CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 3 CPD Pentraeth 2

Goals from Gwion Davies (2) and Reece Evans sealed Penrhyn the win which hauled them off the bottom of the table.

Pentraeth are now at the basement, despite goals from Connor O’Neill and Cai Evans Hughes running them close at Maes-y-Parc.
