NORTH WALES COAST FA JUNIOR CUP ROUND ONE REPORTS – SEPTEMBER 24

NFA 2 Abergele 3

Despite playing with 10 men since late in the first half, Abergele grabbed their second win of the season at Ffordd Derwen to progress to round two of the NWCFA Junior Cup.

The match started with NFA the stronger side and Gele’s task became even tougher when Liam Roberts received a straight red on 38 minutes with the scores level.

A spirited Abergele began the second half well and soon found themselves 1-0 up thanks to a Connah Atkinson goal from a Greg Hilditch long throw.

NFA levelled through Ciaran Brady and Gele had goalkeeper Cain Folly to thank when a one-on-one save kept the tie at 1-1.

Abergele again took the lead 10 minutes later via a Ben Pamment effort and it became 3-1 on the 62nd minute when Atkinson struck the ball on the half-volley at the back post.

A late goal from Liam Bowers set up a tense finish, but it was Abergele who advanced.

Gaerwen 3 Arriva 6

A tremendous tie saw Gaerwen’s new signing Nathan Moore give his side a 3-2 half time lead with a debut hat-trick, Luis Teles replying with a double for Arriva.

Geraint Siddall, Alan Owen and Grant Chambers provided the assists for Moore’s goals.

After the break the Busmen took over, Teles completing his treble, while Matthew Parry, Danny Roberts and 16-year-old Ryan Roberts also struck for the visitors.

Llandudno Amateurs 4 Llanystymdwy 0

Some top quality goals guided the Amateurs through to round two.

Kyle Johnson struck very early for the home side with a precision free kick from about 25 yards.

Chris Smyth’s magnificent header from a Joe Jones cross made it 2-0 after 32 minutes.

The third home goal soon after the start of the second half was absolute class.

A move down the left involving a succession of short passes ended with Joe Jones drilling home.

Johnson rounded off a great win by foiling both defender and goalkeeper with sublime skill before slotting into the net.

Llanfairpwll 6 Henllan 0

Three goals in each half ensured Llanfairpwll recorded a resounding victory at Maes Eilian over North Wales Coast East opponents.

Marquis Holland set the ball rolling with a 27th minute opener, then Cian Owen and Rees Roberts struck before the break.

In the second half, the tie was all over as a contest when Cian Owen made it 4-0 on 48 minutes.

Tom Mummery scored for the second game running, the 16-year-old netting on 70 minutes and Holland completed the rout on 83.

Llangoed 2 Bethesda Rovers 3

What a fantastic local derby at Tyddyn Paun.

The Puffins were rewarded for an excellent first half with goals on four and 23 minutes from Sam Eaden.

Captain Kieron Bullock pulled one back on 27, making it 2-1 at half time.

This Rovers team never know when they are beaten and Kieron Bullock levelled the tie on 48 minutes.

And the comeback was totally complete when Kieron Bullock made it a treble after 74 to clinch the win.

Rhos United 6 Caergybi 0

This was a magnificent win for Rhos over a Caergybi side which recently knocked tier 3 giants Cefn Albion out of the FAW Trophy by a 3-0 scoreline.

The Anglesey visitors had benched substitute Owain Griffiths, Glenn North and Louis Chapman sent off, but the latter two were dismissed after the final whistle. It was 11 v 11 all through the 90 minutes.

Scott Court scored the only goal of the first half.

In the second, Phemmy Allison delivered a double, Court added his second, and Bret Durkan and Lewis Sealey provided singles.
