Draw made for NEWFA Challenge Cup – who plays who?

Airbus are the NEWFA Challenge Cup holders

The draw for the First and Second Qualifying Rounds of the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup has been made.

Nine clubs received byes to the Second Qualifying Round whilst 14 will battle it out in the First, with ties to be played on 5th August.

Last season’s Semi-Finalists Penyffordd will be involved from the off as they host Castell Alun, a rematch of the same fixture from last year’s Third Round tie. Lex return to this stage of the competition and take on Coedpoeth, whilst new side AFC Weston Rhyn will welcome CPD Yr Wyddgrug.

Another new side, Marchwiel Saints received a bye and will take on Holywell United in QR2.

The following teams have received byes: Acton, Holywell United, Chirk AAA, Johnstown Youth, CPD Caerwys, Marchwiel Saints, Deeside Dragons, Saltney Town and Greenfield.
