Two of Connah’s Quay Nomads’ most influential players of recent seasons have left the club.

Polly Wild-McGregor and Elana Harley have both said goodbye to the Adran North champions and could be setting their sights on a move to the English leagues.

Wild-McGregor, 20, has been a Nomad since 2022-23 and captained the team to back-to-back Ardal North title victories in 2024-25 and 2025-26.

In both seasons, the Deesiders went through the entire campaign unbeaten – a total run of 26 games comprising 24 wins and two draws. They twice lost in promotion play-offs to reach the Adran Premier.

Wild-McGregor achieved a unique double when she was named Genero Adran North Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season in 2024-25, She finished league top-scorer with 21 goals.

The attacking midfielder scored on debut for Nomads’ senior team in a 6-0 victory at Y Felinheli in September 2022. She notched 47 goals in 79 total appearances for the first team.

Harley, also 20, joined Nomads from Wrexham at the start of 2022-23.

She hagged 31 goals in 73 first team outings over four seasons, also netting a number of times for the under-19 side.

Other previous clubs included NFA and Chester and she also gained experience with international squads.

With Nomads, she won the back-to-back Ardal North titles alongside friend Wild-McGregor.

Nomads’ manager of the past five seasons, Jordan Parry, stepped down earlier this summer and has been replaced by Andy Griffiths.

Both Wild-McGregor and Harley have decided to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.
