Eleven ties and a massive 79 goals – you probably had either a very good or pretty lousy night in the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup.

NEWFA SENIOR CHALLENGE CUP ROUND THREE REPORTS

Rhostyllen 6 Penyffordd Lions 1

Six of the best from Rhostyllen with two goals apiece from Tom Douglas, Max Percival and Taylor Williams, Thomas Pitts replying.

CPD Gronant 0 Aston Park Rangers 5

Kallum Pierce, Shay Davies (2), Rhys Jones and skipper Andy Cook shared the goals in an emphatic success for Rangers.

Gresford Athletic 11 Acton 1

Double-figures for the Cymru North side against opponents from three levels below.
Alex Buxton (2), Dominic Deacon, Simon Smith and Sam Pickering combined to give the Colliers a 5-1 half time lead, Sam Giles replying.
In the second half, Jacob Barratt (2), two more from Deacon for a hat-trick and Adam Hesp completed the rout.

Ruabon Rovers 6 Mynydd Isa Spartans 3

James Jones (2), Connor Kendrick (2), Andrew Swarbrick and Chris Bennion ensured Rovers progress at the expense of Spartans who responded through Jordan Walker (2, 1 pen) and Ross Walker.

Coedpoeth United 3 Flint Mountain 6

Braces from Corey Smart and Ben Brierly, plus strikes from Calyn Spencer and Sam Molyneux sent Mountain into the next round.
Jack Pawley and Adam Lloyd (2) provided the home replies.

Penycae 2 Llangollen Town 3

Goals from Benjamin Wilson (2) and Kristian Jones earned lower league Llangollen a great win at The Riverside.
William Scott and Danny Holland were the scorers for Penycae, who led 2-1 at half time.

Rhydymwyn 1 Holywell Town 2

Sam Duffy and Dave Forbes (penalty) were on the scoresheet to see the Wellmen through to the next round of the NEWFA Challenge Cup.

Iwan Roberts levelled for Rhydymwyn in the 56th minute.

FC United of Wrexham 0 Castell Alun Colts 16

Daniel Woosey (5), Craig Worthington (3), Jack Jones (2), Nathan Davies, Reece Jones, Mark Emberton, Alister Randles, Nathan Jones and Rob Ward all joined in the goals fest in this one-sided affair.

Mold Alexandra 2 Greenfield 2 (Mold won 3-2 on pens)

It went to penalties at Alyn Park, where Cymru North Mold finally saw off the brave challenge it tier 4 Greenfield.
Dom Doherty and Sion McHugh netted for Alex in the 90 minutes, goals from Ryan Davies and Dylan Roberts having gone so close to putting the underdogs through.
Mold trailed 2-1 until the 90th minute.

Corwen 3 Cefn Druids 4

Druids edged through at the expense of battling tier three opposition.
A Harry Pooler own goal put the Cymru North visitors one-up on 23 minutes, then after Iwan Hardy and Callum Roberts made it 3-0 before half time it appeared to be all over.
Kian Parry added a fourth on 51 minutes to put Cefn seemingly out of sight, but Corwen hit back in the last half hour through a Delwyn Jones double and Henry Evans single.
Peter Evans also missed a penalty for the Ancients.

Ruthin Town 2 New Brighton Villa 0

Goals in the last 15 minutes from Charlie Williams and Mathew Evans sent Ruthin through to the next stage.
