Welsh National League Premier Division visitors Brickfield began their season in style with a convincing victory at North East Wales League comeback club Sychdyn.

New signing Sebastian Kidd’s goal separated the sides at half time, then Owen Jones and Lewis Jones found the net in the second period.

A brace from Jack Aitken and goals from Mark Foster, Jimmy McGlone, Aled Reece, Keiran Farr, Pete Martin and Sean Williams sent the Mountain through to the first round of the NEWFA Challenge Cup at Pant Newydd.

Rhydymwyn 1 Plas Madoc 3

Ever-progressing Plas Madoc made a winning start to the campaign with a 3-1 triumph at the Mornflake Cereal Ground.

Jamie Williams, Craig Roberts (pen) and debutant Ramone Nelson struck for Ryan Roberts’ side.

Llay Welfare 2 Coedpoeth United 3

A great win for underdogs Coedpoeth away to opponents from a division above in the Welsh National League.

Jardel Junior, Matty Thomas and Nathan Jones put the visitors three-up before Llay caused a few flutters in the away camp with late goals from Curt Griffiths and Kev Hope.
