Sunday League football icons FC Mally have announced the return of one of their greatest players.
Shaheen Daniel Ahmed, known popularly as Twinny, has rejoined the Llandudno Junction side in the January transfer window.
The 36-year-old has won a host of trophies with the Mally over the years, including Rhyl and District Sunday League quadruples in 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2018-19.
Mally manager Andy Colville said: “Twin left to try his luck at a higher level in Saturday football but due to work and family commitments couldn’t commit as much as he would like to, so has decided to come back to the club he has captained to winning numerous trophies.”
Centre-back Twinny has a wealth of experience in Saturday football, having played for among others Conwy, Llandudno Reserves, Llandudno Junction, Glan Conwy, Llanrwst United, Llandudno Albion and Penmaenmawr Phoenix.
He has won titles in every Saturday North Wales League except the Cymru Alliance/North and Cymru Premier.
Also a football coach, he has played alongside some tremendous talent over the years including Toby Jones, Jake Cassidy, Neal Eardley, Dean Seager and Tom Creamer, who have all featured at Cymru Premier or higher, plus the likes of Joe Carey, Luke Smith, Alfie Caldecott, Daniel Prince and Sean McCaffery, who have all impressed him immensely.
No doubt Mally boss Colville will be hoping Twinny can help inspire a title charge in the second half of the Sunday League season.
