She’s one of the best new players to emerge in the North Wales Women’s League and her long throw-ins are already the stuff of legend.
Meet Georgia Spibey, an attacking midfielder for Rhyl-based NFA.
Also known as The Mighty Spibey, the former Liverpool FC junior is having a great season.
Grassroots North Wales was fortunate to catch up with her for a chat before her annual stint in Greenland helping Santa.

I would love to say that I am 5 ft 7, but unfortunately for me I am pushing 5 ft 5 on a good day.
Vicars Cross, Liverpool, Crewe & Nantwich and currently NFA.
It has to be the generic answer of playing in the garden with my dad and my older brother.
I started to play at about 8/9 years old, then I stopped playing at 13 to play hockey instead. I’ve only just within the last year picked up playing football again.
When I was younger, I usually played upfront somewhere, typically striker. But seeing as I can’t personally stand in the same position for more than 5 minutes, midfield is a much better fit for me.
At the minute it is pretty non-existent except for a Tuesday night training. I’ll pick up a more active schedule again in the new year.
If I’m not sleeping (which I usually am), I am a book worm so probably reading.
I have to be in the right mood to go shopping, but any shop with books in it though I’m happy.
Without a doubt it has to be my partner in crime Rachel Lloyd. ❤ She brings every notable attribute to the table; I couldn’t think of anyone better on or off the pitch than herself. Not only is she an incredible leader for us all at NFA, but she is also an incredibly talented player, who could undoubtedly fit and succeed in any professional team. We are all extremely lucky to have her creativity and composure in the heart of the pitch.
For me, it would definitely have to be Serena Williams.
Unquestionably Mr Andrew Lloyd himself – I think we can all agree that Andy is one in a million. His encouragement, patience, and guidance to every single one of us at NFA is second to none, and without a doubt has made us into the successful team we are today. It is an absolute pleasure to have him as our coach. The man is a legend. Also big shoutout to Richie – who this season has brought a more technical aspect to the team which has allowed us to progress massively as a team.
Not currently no, will definitely have to be a resolution of mine.
Any progress and development big or small within women’s football is a huge step in the right direction and really beneficial to all of us.
Most recently our trip to Pwllheli in the NWCFA Women’s Challenge Cup against a quality team. As a team we all showed determination and character which ultimately got us the win in the end.
It is hard to pinpoint just one, but at the moment being part of such amazing team is definitely up there with the best.
Anything that Ronaldo has worn.
I’m not too fussy when it comes to music, anything really. But a controversial one – soft jazz.
If so, what is your favourite character? Steve off Coronation Street is a personal favourite.
Absolutely, whenever it is safe to do so, will be the first in line at the airport.
At the moment a very lonely goldfish, that will probably outlive me.
My dream job would definitely be an editorial position within publishing.
Nothing in particular, just to enjoy football as much as possible.
Get as stuffed as the turkey!
If anyone wants to buy me a house of a new car, I wouldn’t say no!
A happy and healthy year 🙂
