Tigers strengthened their top six status in the North Wales Coast West Premier Division tonight with a hard-fought win over Anglesey rivals Gwalchmai.

The visitors had generally the better of the first half and had they taken their chances it could have been a different story.

Gwalchmai kept battling hard after the break and deservedly equalised on 64 minutes when Connor Owen converted a penalty.

A minute later, the Tigers were back in front when Sam Faulkner teed up Callum Thomas to score. That turned the game the home side’s way.

The points were sealed on 75 minutes when Thomas turned provider to enable top-scorer Dean Redmond to notch his 16th goal of the campaign.

Menai are now unbeaten in seven league matches, winning six to make it 19 points out of a possible last 21.

Last Friday, the Tigers defeated Amlwch Town 5-1 at home.

James Parker put the visitors ahead in the 24th minute, but a Craig Roberts double had the Tigers in front by half time.

Callum Thomas made it 3-1 on 52 from a Sion Hogan assist, Dean Redmond added a fourth and Callum Davidson completed the scoring after 82 before being red carded two minutes later.
