Caerwys Football Club are on the lookout for new manager

CPD Caerwys are on the lookout for a new first team manager following the resignation of Eddie Barry.

Former Halkyn United and Holywell Town Reserves boss Barry took over at the tier 5 North East Wales League Championship side in June after Andy Mackie stepped down.

The experienced Barry leaves the Flintshire club eighth in the Championship with a record of four wins and four defeats.

Caerwys are inviting applications for Barry’s replacement. The club desires a manager with experience at tier 5 or a similar level.

The club’s requirements include a candidate: “To manage, coach, organise and deliver a competitive first team squad with players demonstrating energy, passion and a winning mentality.

“Some knowledge of the FAW COMET system and ability to help behind the scenes would be an advantage.”

Caerwys have a proud history which includes competing in the tier 3 Welsh Alliance League for seven seasons between 2000-01 and 2006-07. In 2003-04 they reached three major semi-finals including the Welsh Trophy and NWCFA Challenge Cup.

The team has been part of the North East Wales League since 2016-17.

They recently enjoyed an impressive 2-1 victory at Ruthin Town Development in the Reserve Cup.

Caerwys also possess an outstanding Vets team which won the National UMBRO Knockout Cup in 1998 and are current North East Wales League Veterans Premier Division champions.

Applicants for the first team manager’s job can contact chairman Shaun Davies on 07771 674491 or email shaundavies68@outlook.com
