CPD Caerwys seek new management after saying fond farewells to successful trio

CPD Caerwys are on the lookout for a first team assistant-boss and reserves manager after three key departures in the past week.

First-team chief and under-19s manager Neil Day is taking a well deserved break from football, whilst the Reserves management team of Connor Richardson and Ieuan Rowe have left to take over at North East Wales Football League Championship side Brymbo.

Daniel Sands remains first team manager for the Tier 4 club.

Day joined Caerwys at the beginning of the 2022/23 season. He was an integral part of the first team success as they went on to complete an unbeaten Championship season and gained promotion to the tier 4 Premier of the North East Wales League.

This season, Day has committed his Saturdays to the firsts in their debut Tier 4 campaign and on Sundays he has run the new, treble-winning, under 19’s team.

His work over the past couple of campaign has been second to none and he was deservedly awarded Clubman Of The Season at the recent presentation night.

Richardson was part of the original management team that joined the club halfway through the 2021/22 season. He helped steady the ship, whilst building a competitive team during his half season with the firsts, before taking on the reserves.

In the past two seasons, the reserve side has finished third and second respectively, whilst also developing a style of play and environment that players enjoy to be in.

Rowe was a player at the club when the current management team joined, featuring for both the firsts and reserves. Injury forced him to take a break and he has been very helpful and influential for the reserves this season since becoming assistant-manager.

A young coach with a bright future ahead, whether he chooses to go back to playing, or sticks with coaching.

CPD Caerwys said: β€œWe’d like to say a massive thank you to π‘΅π’†π’Šπ’, π‘ͺ𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒓 and 𝑰𝒆𝒖𝒂𝒏 for all the time and effort committed over the past few seasons. You will be sorely missed around the club and good luck with what you do next. Don’t be strangers!.”
