CPD Caerwys have been left high and dry without a manager just three weeks before the start of the new season.
Dan Sands announced this week he is leaving the Tier 4 North East Wales League Premier Division club to take up a position at another Flintshire area club, believed to be CPD Gronant.
This blow comes on the back of Caerwys recently losing three other members of the senior management team.
First-team coach and under-19s manager Neil Day recently announced he is taking a break from football, whilst the Reserves management of Connor Richardson and Ieuan Rowe have left to take over at North East Wales Football League Championship side Brymbo.
Elsewhere, Caerwys are thriving with a fine youth set-up, news emerging of a new women’s team and they run a side in the Llandyrnog and District Village Clubs Summer Football League.
However, with the 2024-25 winter league season edging ever closer they have a new problem to sort out.
Caerwys have had a real upsurge in recent times. In 2022-23, they finished runners-up in the North East Wales Championship Division, securing promotion to the Premier after emerging undefeated all season over 20 matches.
Last term, they held their own in the Premier, finishing seventh, the seconds won the North East Wales League Reserve Division, while the new youth side produced a phenomenal effort to win the Flintshire Under-19 League title.
