First point on the board for both Trearddur and Holywell

Holywell were well worth a point at Trearddur Bay

These two sides may have had contrasting feelings after both ending up with their first point of the season.

For visitors Holywell, they will believe three points should have been theirs, having led 2-0 at half time and been 2-1 ahead only to concede a very late equaliser.

Trearddur Bay will probably feel satisfied they took a share of the spoils having levelled the scores with time running out.

Holywell made a great start and took the lead in the fifth minute with a lovely finish from distance by Leah Davies-Williams.

That seemed to wake the Bay up and Chloe Taylor created a lot of good chances from the right, but unfortunately none were converted.

Freya Davies also set up opportunities via the left, but again to no avail.

The hosts were made to pay when Holywell took a good near post corner which was headed on powerfully and blocked, but Zoe Stopford was there to nod in the second chance on 40 minutes.

Bay initially continued to be wasteful in front of goal after the restart.

That was until some great work by Taylor down the right ended in a super cross that new signing Sarah Flower finished brilliantly into the roof of the net with 53 minutes gone.

It was more of the same as the home side pressured for a second but could not find the net.

With Bay pushing for an equaliser, Holywell were always a threat on the break and Georgia Magee had to be at her best a few times to keep the hosts in the game.

Finally, in the 88th minute the pressure paid off for Trearddur when the ball dropped to captain Ashleigh Jones who finished well from just inside the 18 yard box.

New signings Flower and Danielle Hesketh both produced solid performances on their full debuts for Bay, whose player of the match was Lia Huws.

Sarah Massey was PoM for the away side.
