Leanne Williams is part of the new Trearddur Bay Ladies football team which has won a lot of friends and admirers since joining the North Wales Women’s League.
The 24-year-old from Holyhead answered some questions for Grassroots North Wales and we are very grateful to her.

After joining my primary school football team, from then on I’ve always loved it.
Since primary school, but had a few years break during the end of high school/ university.
I haven’t always played upfront, I’ve played in all positions growing up, even goalkeeper (which wasn’t very successful)😂
Training is every Thursday. I don’t practice everyday, I don’t have the time for that ha ha!
I’ll usually be in the gym, or doing something outdoors, something keeping me active.
I’m not a massive fan of shopping, I prefer to shop online.
I’d say Lucy Bronze as she’s just down to earth and always gives 100%.
Liverpool
I don’t practice a certain diet whilst training or during the season, just eat what I want and hope for the best, but also make sure I drink plenty of water! (and beer on game days)
I don’t have strong feelings towards the pyramid changes in all honesty, I’m not against any changes if it’ll create better opportunities for women’s football.
Probably one of my first few games for Trearddur Bay Ladies, getting back into football was one of the best decisions I’ve made and I felt like I’ve played my best games with this team, and there will be plenty more.
Varies, I’m really into indie music, but my playlist can go from one extreme to another.
Pre-Covid times I was going to book Los Angeles, so I’m hoping once it’s safe to do so, I can get myself out there.
I have a black lab named Sasha.
That’s a tough one. I’m still young, so I don’t have that figured out yet. I have a few ideas, but I have time.
Just to carry on playing until I can no longer play, I love the sport and playing on the pitch just makes me happy. I think as long as you’re happy that’s all that matters, no matter if you win or lose.
