Connah’s Quay Nomads have added a top class attacking player to their squad competing in the Genero Adran North league.
She is Francesca Scott, an exciting young talent who began the season with Genero Adran Premier club The New Saints, for whom she made seven appearances.
Francesca started her football life with Shrewsbury Juniors before moving on to TNS aged 14.
Her qualities as a pacey right-winger later saw her have spells in centres of excellence at West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City.
Playing at a high level and impressing, it was little surprise that former club TNS wanted Francesca as part of their plans to compete in the new Genero Adran Premier this season.
She scored a fantastic goal on her debut in a 2-1 defeat against Pontypridd Town on September 6, executing a brilliant close-range chip over the goalkeeper.
Now Nomads have pulled off a real coup by signing the Shrewsbury-based youngster. Francesca caught the eye playing against the Deesiders in a pre-season friendly for TNS.
Quay assistant-manager Stephen Boyes said: “She has bags of pace and is clinical in front of goal. She had her first training session tonight with the squad and she has wowed the staff and players.”
On top of her football abilities, Francesca has also represented Wales in athletics, at one stage being the UK’s No 6 ranked hurdler at under-18 and U-20 levels.
