REPORTS

Connah’s Quay Nomads 19 (Scott 6, Hobbs 3, Grimshaw 3, Kural 2, Bailey 2, Bloor 2, K Jones)
Llanfair United 0

To score six goals in a game is something pretty special.

To achieve the feat on your birthday is even more amazing.

Take a bow Francesca Scott, Connah’s Quay Nomads’ new sensation who knocked in a double hat-trick in her team’s drubbing of Llanfair.

The former Stoke City and The New Saints player and recent Quay signing, daughter of former Wrexham first team player Stephen Scott, is 22 today.

With both the top two, Bethel and Llandudno, not in action, Nomads moved to within a point of the pair having played the same amount of games.

It was a good day in front of goal for a number of Quay players, both Shannon Hobbs and Niamh Grimshaw bagging hat-tricks.

Kirstie Kural, Amber Bailey and Chelsea Bloor delivered doubles apiece and Kylie Jones scored once.

Nomads also gave a debut to exciting new 16-year-old prospect Sienna Strapp, who came on after an hour.

Airbus UK Broughton 1 (Harrison 14)
Wrexham 3 (Hughes 45+4, Dickens 47, Dutton 73)

After falling a goal behind at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, Wrexham hit back to take all three points.

Beaten 5-4 at Airbus in the Genero Adran Trophy two weeks earlier, revenge was sweet for the reds, led by interim boss Steve Dale.

Wrexham had an early chance from the penalty spot but Rosie Hughes’ kick was saved by Ceri Evans.

The Wingmakers took the lead on 14 minutes when veteran Natalie Harrison won a race to the ball with keeper Delyth Morgan and tapped into an empty goal.

The visitors levelled in first half added time, Hughes heading in her 15th goal of the season from a Tonicha Dickens corner.

Dickens made it 2-1 two minutes into the second half when her deflected effort found the net.

After several close calls, the away side added a third on 73 minutes via a superb 30-yard strike from captain Kim Dutton.
