Gwen Roberts is one of a number of highly promising young players looking to make her mark with CPDM Bangor 1876 this season.
She has made quite a start, scoring a hat-trick on her debut for the team this summer.

My Dad is a massive football fan, which meant that I grew up watching football. When I was old enough he started to take me and my brother to watch games. At first, I only went for the hot dogs they served in the café, but then I started enjoying the matches and I’ve loved it ever since!
I’ve been kicking a ball in the garden for as long as I can remember but I joined a team when I was about 11/12.
I’ve always played around the midfield / striker area, but as I got older I preferred to play on the left rather than centrally.
Outside of the team practice once a week, I try to practice as much as I can after school and on the weekends.
I coach younger age groups, and I play netball. Away from sports, I like to spend time with friends and family and go on walks.
I like to go clothes shopping and I also love to find new places to eat.
Caroline Weir because her technique and her footballing ability is amazing.
It has to be Serena Williams. She is a great athlete and a fantastic advocate for women in sport.
I’ve learned something different from every coach I’ve worked with, but my Dad has always been the most honest with me and I’ve learned and progressed a lot because of that.
Liverpool FC.
Not particularly, but I try to eat healthy and I always eat a balanced meal before and after matches.
It wasn’t the greatest game, but the one that meant the most to me was a friendly match between Bangor 1876 and Denbigh. It was Bangor 1876 Ladies’ first ever match and my first senior match, and I scored the first ever goal for the club, as well as a hat-trick. Being Bangor born and bred, it was great to be able to contribute to the club in that way.
I’m a big music fan so I enjoy all kind of music, except jazz.
Not at the moment, but I’d love to just go somewhere warm!
No, I’m actually scared of animals.
I just want to improve as much as I can, and see where I can go from there.
