Happy birthday Louisha Doran!

Happy birthday Louisha Doran – all-round sportswoman extraordinaire!

Not only has she represented Wales at football, this super-fit athlete has also won world kickboxing titles.

Louisha’s latest sporting adventure is managing newly-formed football team Colwyn Bay Ladies FC.

Born on July 14, 1997, the Glan Conwy based ace first started kickboxing when she was around 5 years old.

She has competed all over the globe, winning gold at world championships in Malta and Greece, European titles in England, as well as Welsh championships.

Louisha has also competed full contact in the ring – in Battle of the Bay, Market Mayhem and Ultimate Fight Night, where she won on each occasion.

As for football, Louisha also showed outstanding talent from an early age.

She won Wales Under-17 caps, scoring in a 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands on August 7, 2013.

The clubs she has represented are: Llandudno Junction Bullets, Colwyn Bay, Mochdre, Kinmel Bay, Tranmere Rovers, Everton and Llandudno Ladies.

Her opportunity at Everton came about because of her progress with Kinmel Bay. Unfortunately, injuries held up her development at the Merseyside club.

In the 2017-18 season, Louisha really made her mark in the Welsh Premier Women’s League with Llandudno.

October 2017 saw her win the WPWL Player of the Month award after scoring eight goals in three league matches, four against Caernarfon Town and two apiece versus Port Talbot and Rhyl.

She stood out as a forward that season, but had previously created a big impact as a defender. Her versatility is one of her major strengths, as is her tackling, strength and ability on the ball.

Now comes a new challenge as manager of Colwyn Bay. An inspirational performer, she will no doubt carry her assets effectively into management.

Grassroots North Wales wishes this great sportswoman well and on behalf of everyone a big happy birthday to Louisha Doran.
