Clwb Criced Conwy 2nd XI (14) 138-3 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (1) 136

Jawad Afzal had a fine day with bat and ball as Conwy seconds emphatically beat Quay seconds at Bodlondeb on Sunday.

Afzal claimed 4-21 and team-mates Vaughan Williams 2-14 and Alex Price 2-20 as the hosts bowled out the Deesiders for 136, opener Andy Tilley making 41.

Conwy reached 138-3 in 38.3 overs, skipper Carwyn Thomas 51 not out and Afzal unbeaten on 34.

Brymbo 2nd XI (12) 145-6 Clwb Criced Conwy 2nd XI (3) 144-8

After opting to bat, Conwy seconds were limited to a modest 144-8 off 40 overs, Ioam Craven-Jones (3-15) and Ross Roberts (2-17) standing out for the Steelmen.

Opener George Bourne then starred with 94 not out as Brymbo reached the winning line at 145-6, Richard Windmill 2-23 for the visitors.

Buckley 2nd XI (0) 97-10 Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (15) 224-4

Richard Davies scored a standout 105 not out and Dave Evans added 53 in leaders Pontblyddyn seconds’ winning total of 224-4 at Lane End.

Buckley seconds were then sent packing for 97, Ryan White 4-32 and Daz Wilcock 3-21 for the 15-0 winners.

Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (15) 287-8 Pwllheli 2nd XI (0) 155-10

Neil Green was the toast of Gwersyllt Park after his 123 not out for the seconds on Saturday.

Green hit 12 fours and eight sixes in his outstanding effort, Alfie Lythgoe adding 67 as the hosts posted a massive 287-8, Osian Williams 3-51 for the visitors.

Pwllheli were all out for 155, Kalim Al Baloshi with a spirited 58, Michael Griffiths best of the Park bowlers with 3-39.

Hawarden Park 2nd XI (14) 199-8 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (1) 100-9

All-rounder Michael Almond produced a performance that was sweet as a nut for Hawarden Park seconds in their comfortable home win over the Quay.

Almond top-scored with 55 in his team’s total of 199-8 and then collected 2-13 off seven tight overs as the Deesiders were restricted to 100-9.

Craig Wilson also notched a useful 39 for Hawarden, Lee Davies 2-22 for the away side, while Andy Tilley made 44 for Quay, Nicholas Woods 3-28 and James Martin 2-17 for the winners.

Rhewl (0) 95-10 Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn seconds (15) 202-9

Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn enjoy a 17-point lead at the Division Four summit after Saturday’s success at Bersham.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat, the visitors chalked up 202-9 off their 40 overs, Tom Hall 41, Abs Day and Sanath Shetty 31 apiece and Sivaraman Seramanperuman 30.

For Rhewl, Steffan Lloyd snapped up 3-38.

Hall grabbed 3-20 and Shetty 3-22 as the hosts were dismissed for 95, Gabriel Wilcox 32 and Aled Edwards 23.

Carmel & District 2nd XI (4) 100-10 Ruthin 2nd XI (11) 106-9

Carmel veteran Dafydd Timothy turned back the clock with vintage figures of nine overs, five maidens, five wickets for seven runs.

Steven Jones also snared 2-5 from six as Ruthin seconds were limited to 106-9 off 40 overs, Gethin Roberts 26. Yet that total was enough to win the game!

Carmel, in response, were bowled out for 100, Benjamin Davies 28, while the star bowler for Ruthin was Gareth Beach with 5-21.

Halkyn 2nd XI (11) 175-9 Bethesda 2nd XI (4) 153-10

Halkyn’s decision to bat after calling the coin correctly went in their favour as they eked out a 22-run victory at Pant Newydd.

Ciaran Sweeney accumulated 33 and Vishal Mony 27 not out as Halkyn posted 175-9, Dylan Hughes 3-34 and Iwan Ellis 2-22 for the visitors.

Bethesda gave it their best shot in reply, but finished up 153 all out, extras the top contributor with 45, Gethin Hughes 24.

For the hosts, Suman Arulamlam gathered 3-22 and Anthony Green 3-27.

Hawarden Park 3rd XI (4) 89-7 Dolgellau 2nd XI (11) 90-8

Hawarden’s score of 89-7 was not quite enough to secure victory as Dolgellau got home by two wickets.

Extras was the highest score of the home innings with 27, Iwan Parry taking 2-8 off eight overs, Moc Llewelyn 2-12 and Ellis Rogers 2-19 for the visitors.

Dolgellau edged to 90-8 to claim a two-wicket triumph, Dave Jenkins (33) and Callum Taylor (29) doing most for the cause.

Robert Goodwin took 4-29 and Tom Wilson 2-18 for the hosts.

Marchwiel & Wrexham 2nd XI (1) 109-10 Llandudno 2nd XI (14) 208-10

Charlie Russell (50) and Jack Thornton (43) led the charge as Llandudno seconds recorded a fine total of 208 all out.

Oliver Heard-Edwards (2-18) and Jay Lee (2-23) registered the best bowling for Marchwiel and Wrexham, who were then bowled out for just 107, Gareth Evans a defiant 51, Jack Thornton 3-25 and Hannah Thornton 2-1 off 5 balls for the winning visitors.
