MOCHDRE 2ND XI (3) 123-10 BUCKLEY (12) 127-7

Buckley lead the Division Two table following Saturday’s narrow success at Swan Road.

Finlay Jones did best with 38 in Mochdre 2nds’ effort of 123 all out, Alex Storey 3-20 off nine overs for the visitors, Jack Whitley 2-4 and William Norman 2-23 for the visitors.

Bucks got home on 127-7 in response, skipper Joel Sampson the highest contributor with 28, Storey 21, Finlay Jones completing a fine match for Mochdre with 4-29.

DENBIGH 2ND XI (4) 172-6 ST ASAPH 2ND XI (11) 173-10

A mightily close contest at Ystrad Road with the visitors winning by a single run.

Saints won the toss and batted, John Winning hitting 40 in a total of 173 all out, Jon Eccles 3-26, Simon Williams 3-38 and Chris Brown 2-23 for the hosts.

Denbigh were well set for victory after openers Jon Eccles (59) and Daniel Nixon (42) gave them a flyer, but wickets fell steadily and the run-rate slowed.

In the end, the home side finished on 172-6, Amer Jamil 2-19 off nine overs for Saints.

GRESFORD 2ND XI (0) 123-10 MENAI BRIDGE 2ND XI (15) 270-3

Dion Owen (89) and captain Ian Granger (87) did most to ensure Bridge set a massive total of 270-3.

Gresford then collapsed to 123 all out, William Roberts a stubborn 52, Phil Smith with 3-11 and Doug Searle 3-29 for the islanders.

LLAY WELFARE 2NDS (1) 52-8 CARMEL & DISTRICT (14) 53-3

Nine-man Llay were well beaten at The Ring.

Batting first, the hosts were limited to 52-8, Connor Hughes 3-15 and Derek Johnson 2-0.

Carmel eased to 53-3 in just 9.5 overs, Ben Sim 24.

MOLD 2ND XI (3) 133-10 MARCHWIEL & WREXHAM (12) 183-9

Number nine bat Phil Oddie hit a crucial 38 not out as Marchwiel & Wrexham set 183-9 after being inserted by their hosts.

Shaun Wheeler took 5-40 for Mold seconds, Keith Embleton picked up 2-34.

George Jones top-scored with 51 as Mold were dismissed for 133 in reply, George Forgrave 3-6 and Josh Williams 3-21 for the hosts.

NORTHOP 2ND XI (4) 157-9 BERSHAM (11) 172-7

Nuwan Amarakoon was Bersham’s chief performer with 69 in an away total of 172-7 at Flint Road.

Scott Oates collected 2-17 and Matthew Mullarkey 2-26 for the home side.

Northop seconds were restricted to 157-9, Thomas Hughes 35, Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage with 4-32 and Randheer Bandara 3-32 for the Colliers.
