Amlwch Town women’s football team are on the lookout for a new head coach after management pair Mo Eynon and Charlotte Bethany Webb announced they are stepping down.

Eynon and Webb jointly managed Amlwch to their first-ever trophy in 2018-19, the Supplementary Cup, before the following season leading the team to the North Wales League Division Two title.

Earlier this week, Amlwch received the disappointing news that they had not been accepted into Tier 2 North of the new Welsh women’s football pyramid.

The Anglesey based club will operate in the North Wales area leagues in 2021-22.

The club announced today that Eynon and Webb were standing down from their joint managerial roles due to other commitments.

With Amlwch possessing some of North Wales’ leading players, it remains to be seen how many of the squad remain for the campaign ahead.

For most of their early years in the North Wales League, the islanders struggled, but in 2018-19 that all changed when they lifted the NWWFL Supplementary Cup, beating Wrexham 2-1 in the final at Belle Vue, Rhyl thanks to goals from Cerys Gadd and Lexi Crawley.

The following summer, on the back of Ynys Môn women scooping a silver medal at the Inter-Island Games, a number of the squad signed for Amlwch for 2019-20.

And it certainly paid dividends, as Town went unbeaten and finished top of Division Two in what was a much-curtailed season because of coronavirus.

Amlwch ladies are now seeking a new head coach.
