Clwb Criced Caernarfon (14) 180-6 Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (1) 90-10

Half centuries from Grant Peisley and Michael Parton helped Caernarfon set up a winning score at Coed Helen.

The victory edged the Cofis up to second in Division Three, but credit was also due to Pontblyddyn, whose two teams both faced long trips on Bank Holiday Monday.

Pont 2nds sent a number of young players to Caernarfon to ensure they had a full team and the fixture went ahead.

Such great spirit and dedication is so good to see.

The hosts won the toss and chose to bat, chalking up 180-6 off 40 overs, Peisley and Parton both scoring 52, while Gary Leadbitter added 34.

Ioan Jones took 2-14 and Ethan Roberts 2-37 for the visitors.

Pont were bowled out for 90, Monis Altaf 3-18, James Logan 2-3 and Parton 2-23.

Buckley 2nd XI (12) 117-10 Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (3) 73-10

Bucks bowler Jack Williams claimed a fabulous 5-10 off nine overs as the Division Three leaders outscored Connah’s Quay at Lane End.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat, the hosts were dismissed for 117, Jack Gibson best with 33, Williams adding 22 and Joe Hogg 15 not out.

Nick Pratt collected a superb 5-15 for the visitors, Chris Boden 2-28.

Kevin Jones made 36 for the Quay, but received little support as his team crashed to 73 all out.

Hogg grabbed 3-11 for the hosts, tidily backing up Williams’ wonder spell.

Abergele 2nd XI (2) 87-10 Brymbo 2nd XI (13) 94-4

Gareth Roberts snared 2-8 and Terry Jones 2-9 as Brymbo 2nds skittled out Gele for 87 after putting them in at Pentre Mawr Park.

Brymbo cruised to 94-4, William Roberts 33 not out, Henry Lunn 29, Rick Ashby a very tight 2-6 off eight for the hosts, who lost 13-2.

Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (13) Corwen (-15)

Corwen conceded

Ruthin 2nd XI (15) 303-4 Llanrwst 2nd XI (0) 81-10

Three players managed half tons as Ruthin 2nds amassed a huge 303-4 off 40 overs against Llanrwst.

Ieuan Wynne Lewis hit 61, skipper Jamie Hughes 61 no, Ifan Hanifa 57, Gareth Beech 36 and Huw Watson 34 no in a run-fest for the hosts.

Opener Matty Lloyd made a brave 45 as the visitors were blown away for 81.

Osian Roberts picked up 3-26, Ned Roberts 2-7, Watson 1-2, Matthew Debicki 1-10 and Venkat Sundaram 1-14 for the winning side.

Rhewl (0) 55-10 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (15) 164-8

Martin Hinton saved Hawarden’s innings with a stand-alone 70 in a total of 164-8 off 40 overs.

Imran Khattak did add 26, but the hosts were in all sorts of trouble early on after deciding to bat before number six Hinton took centre stage.

For Rhewl, Iwan Lloyd took 2-21 and Dafydd Williams 2-23.

The hosts, playing at Bersham, were then blasted out for just 55, Gavin Manuel 18, Harry Black with 4-6 for the visitors, Robert Goodwin 2-7.
