Indian ace Vishal Kushwah smashed a ruthless 92 as Bay stormed to victory over the Hall in Friday night’s T20 knockout clash at Penrhyn Avenue.
The visitors won the toss and decided to field, which looked a decent move after they removed openers Sion Morris and Adam Campion with just 12 runs on the board.
However, Kushwah was merciless, his innings lasting just 50 balls and including nine fours and six sixes.
Wicket-keeper Luke Russell added a quick 26 not out down the order as Bay amassed 164-6 off a reduced 16 overs.
Joshua Andrady picked up 2-24 for the Flintshire side.
The Hall were limited to 93-9 from their 16, spin king Arthur Jones snaring a magnificent 5-11 off three overs for the hosts.
Will Higginson was top-scorer for the visitors with 28, Bay winning by 71 runs.
Colwyn Bay will visit Rainhill in the second round (last 16).
Vishal Kushwah may have been Bay’s hero in their T20 thrashing of Northop Hall on Friday, but the following day was a different story for the Indian all-rounder as he was out for a duck at home to Rainford.
The hosts were invited to bat and from 77-1 they crashed to 154 all out.
Skipper George Johansen was run out for 51, Adam Campion ended 50 not out and Zack Gidlow posted 33, John Dotters with 4-32 for the visitors.
William Shuttleworth (60 not out) and skipper Dotters (41) saw Rainford to 155-5 in 42.5 overs to seal a 20-4 points verdict.
For the Bay, Jack Parry took 2-27 and Paul Jenkins 2-45.
A woeful batting display cost Northop Hall dear at Birkenhead Park.
Inserted by the hosts, the North Wales visitors were rolled over for just 74, Harrison Jones the only shining light with a defiant 29 not out.
Satyajeet Bachhav was chief destroyer for the home team with 6-30.
Park reached 75-5 off 23.2 overs in response, Darren Leach 2-23.
Joshua Leach claimed all six Colwyn Bay wickets to fall in a drawn encounter at Smithy Lane.
Bay won the toss and opted to bat, posting 204-6 declared off 45 overs.
Opener Jack Coates made 47, Sam Roberts 36 and Ross Hudson 34, Leach pocketing 6-63 off 16 overs.
Hall were 127-5 at the close, Evan Withe 44 and Adam Littler 31, Jamie Moorhouse with 2-42 from 17 for the Bay, who collected the better of the points 7-5.
Wicket-keeper opening bat Lucas Sheridan made a crucial 57 as Prestatyn triumphed by six wickets at Beach Close.
Asked to bat, Parkfield were all out for 108, Benjamin Hughes 2-6 off 6.3, Ashley Jones 2-19 off nine and Steven Edwards 2-39.
Sheridan then led the way with his half-ton as Prestatyn reached 109-4 off 31.2 overs, Kieron Tidswell adding a useful 21.
