Chris Venables became the fifth player in history to reach 200 Cymru Premier goals with a treble in Bala Town’s impressive 4-1 win at Barry Town United.
The 35-year-old midfielder, winner of the CPL Golden Boot four times, is also the league’s top scorer this season on 24 goals.
Venables finished league leading marksman in 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 with Aberystwyth Town before achieving the feat for the first time with Bala last season. His best total in a season is 28.
Venables now has 202 goals and joins Marc Lloyd Williams (319), Rhys Griffiths (271), Lee Hunt (209) and Michael Wilde (206) in an elite band to make the double century.
Today’s result also secured the Lakesiders third place and qualification for the Europa League.
Antony Kay handed Town an 11th minute lead at Jenner Park, Nat Jarvis levelling a minute later.
Venables made it 2-1 before half time and added two more goals in the second period.
In the battle of the top two, Connah’s Quay Nomads and The New Saints played out a 0-0 draw which featured very few scoring opportunities.
TNS midfielder Daniel Redmond was sent off in added time for a second yellow card.
Table-toppers Nomads are two points clear of TNS with three rounds of matches to play.
Sion Bradley’s 90th minute equaliser secured Caernarfon Town a 2-2 draw at home to previous bogey side Penybont.
Jacob Bickerstaff gave the Cofis a 20th minute lead, Kane Owen made it 1-1 on 34, Lewis Harling put the visitors ahead on 70, but Bradley rescued a point.
In the Play-Off Conference, Flint Town United’s improvement under Neil Gibson continued in a 2-0 win over Haverfordwest County.
Josh Amis broke the deadlock on 37 minutes and Alex Jones added number two after 48.
