Connah’s Quay Nomads striker Michael Wilde is just four goals away from becoming only the fourth player ever to score 200 in the Cymru Premier.

Wilde’s double for Nomads in Friday’s 3-1 win at Aberystwyth Town edged him up to 196 goals, putting him fourth in the all-time list.

The 37-year-old, who has struck eight times for champions Quay this term, was Welsh Premier top-scorer for The New Saints with 153 goals before Greg Draper passed that mark this season.

Wilde, who joined Nomads in June 2016, has grabbed 43 league goals and 71 in all competitions for the club up to and including December 5, 2020.

Also with the 200-goal WPL milestone in their sights are Chris Venables of Bala Town (190) and Draper (164).
