Over the past 3 months we have seen 30 North Wales Women’s Football Dream Teams selected.
So based on votes received, what would be the overall North Wales Dream XI?
This is how it has worked out, based on a 4-5-1 formation…..
NORTH WALES WOMEN’S DREAM TEAM – THE FINAL VERDICT
Joint: Nicky Davies and Bethan Thomas (6 selections each)
They would have to play a half each!
Nicky is probably Wales’ finest-ever keeper with 64 caps to her credit and a glittering club career for the likes of Liverpool and Bangor City Girls.
Bethan has been outstanding in recent seasons for Northop Hall, where she has won the North Wales League title.
Erica Jones (13 selections)
The Queen of North Wales Dream Teams was crowned after attracting the highest number of selections.
Tremendous defender over the years for Pwllheli and Caernarfon Town.
Sioned Bohana (8 selections)
Left-footed, rock solid defender who has achieved her best feats with Caernarfon Town.
Kim Broadbent (8 selections)
Another calm, secure and experienced defender who has won a host of trophies with Caernarfon over the years.
Anest Haf Roberts (7 selections)
What an achievement by Anest to make this team at the age of just 17.
Rated by young and older players alike, the Bethel youngster is strong at the back and a danger going forward, especially from set-pieces/free kicks.
Ffion Owen (12 selections)
Second in the Dream Team chart with 12 selections.
Star player over the years for Caernarfon Town, Amlwch Town and Ynys Môn, the best goal-scoring midfielder in North Wales.
Catrin Evans (9 selections)
Only 18, yet a choice of so many people for their Dream Team.
Stunning talent whose pace down the left wing and finishing ability is awesome.
Kelsey Davies (7 selections)
Former Wales youth international who starred for Kinmel Bay before having a long and successful stint with Llandudno in the Welsh Premier, where she was a regular starter on the right wing. Scored many useful goals.
Katie Davies (7 selections)
One of the greatest to emerge from North Wales without a doubt.
Can play defence or midfield. Won 20 caps for Wales and played club football for Liverpool as well as Bangor City Girls. Top class.
Anna Jones (7 selections)
Magnificent all-round midfielder, strong in the tackle and full of energy.
Won the North Wales League with Caernarfon Town in 2016-17 before going on to represent Llandudno in the Welsh Premier.
Joined Chester FC Women last season.
Mari Gibbard (9 selections)
She’s out on her own – literally.
This North Wales Dream Teams series has certainly raised Mari’s profile. She is constantly lauded as one of the greats.
Still lots of years left in the game too. Bethel and Llandudno attacking player who scores many spectacular goals.
Mari will not be exposed up front with the speed of Kelsey Davies and Catrin Evans supporting her in attacks and the midfield thrusts of Owen, Jones and Davies.
