My North Wales women’s dream team: Cara Wyn Hughes

Cara Wyn Hughes is in the manager’s seat today as she selects her North Wales Dream Team.
Defender Cara, 22, has represented Pwllheli, Caernarfon Town and Llandudno in her career so far, having proved a stand-out performer in the Welsh Premier Women’s League.
Cara is the 15th player to pick a North Wales XI, following Fflur Williams (Bethel), Chelsea Evans (Northop Hall), Abby Williams (Airbus), Gwenno Gibbard Bolton (Bethel), Lexi Crawley (Amlwch), Claire Colville (Llandudno), Cerys Gadd (Amlwch), Libby McClelland (NFA), Meinir Thomas (Amlwch), Erica Jones (Pwllheli), Rachel Roberts (Corwen), Beca Williams (Bethel), Mari Gibbard and Emily Jones (NFA).
Cara’s Class Acts (4-4-2)
GOALKEEPER
Miriam Jones

Played with her for Pwllheli when I was 15 and remember her making some good saves.
DEFENDERS
Sioned Bohana

Absolute solid defender and the best person off the pitch, always had a good partnership playing in defence with her for Caernarfon and Llandudno.
Louisha Doran

Amazing player, strong on the ball and a hell of a right foot shot. Can play anywhere, great at the back and always a danger up front.
Erica Jones

Solid defender, never afraid to get into a challenge and gives 110% for her team. Would die for Pwllheli Ladies
Ashleigh Mills

Remember playing against her when she was with Rhyl in the Welsh Premier. She was so fast, skillful and knew where the net was. Stunning left foot, she could play left-back, left-midfield or left wing.
MIDFIELDERS
Ffion Owen

Amazing player, stands out in every game. Can read the game so well. Has scored lots of goals for Amlwch and Caernarfon. Lovely girl.
Rachael Nattrass

Good player, reads the game well and some of the passes she comes up with are unbelievable. Another great team-mate who will always help you on the pitch.
Anna Jones

Gives 100% every game, is never afraid to get into a challenge and has a cracking shot. Has played in the Welsh Premier for Caernarfon Town and Llandudno, now with Chester Women.
Kelsey Davies

Speedy Gonzales. Would hate to be left back playing against her, so fast and skillful. Another who has made her mark in the Welsh Prem.
STRIKERS
Mari Gibbard

One of the best strikers I’ve seen. Will never forget her goals against Cardiff City! Holds the ball well and can shoot from anywhere.
Lois Thomas

Welsh Colleges international and a prolific goal scorer for Pwllheli.
In 2017-18, she was the North Wales Women’s League top scorer with 38 goals at the age of just 18. She netted three goals or more six times and six in a single game twice that season.
