North Wales Coast West: Holyhead make it five in a row, Williams grabs all four in Amlwch win, Llanrug triumph

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE – REPORTS OCTOBER 3
DIVISION ONE

CPD Caernarfon Borough 0 Holyhead Town 5
Division One leaders Holyhead Town have won five league games in a row for the first time in nine years, the club revealed yesterday.
It is a highly impressive statistic for the Harbourmen, who improved their 100% record for 2026-27 on Saturday with a five-goal away victory at Caernarfon Borough.
Town made four changes to the line-up, with Charlie Diamond, Tony Meyer, Lewis Heywood and Matt Rowlands all returning to the starting XI.
The visitors got off to a bright start and could have taken an early lead through Zack Haigh, whose strike was well saved by Dion Jones.
Haigh went close again shortly after, rattling the post with a header from an inswinging corner.
Caernarfon did well to stifle Town’s attacks, though Charlie Diamond still managed to go close from long range. While Boro looked dangerous on the counter, they failed to truly trouble the Town defence.
With the first half drifting to a close, Lewis Heywood split the defence with a clever through ball to find Haigh, who slotted home. Caernarfon felt aggrieved, calling for offside, but the flag remained down.
With the hosts still visibly frustrated by the decision, Haigh pressed the goalkeeper, forcing a mistake and tapping into an empty net to double the lead before the break.
Half-Time: Caernarfon Borough 0–2 Holyhead Town
Caernarfon started the second half on the front foot, pushing hard to get back into the match and going close with a long-distance effort.
However, Town soon settled on the ball. Steve Driedyk flicked a brilliant ball into the path of Gwynfor Owen, who hammered home from close range to score on debut and make it 3-0.
Caernarfon responded by forcing Steff Parry into a smart save from distance. Town nearly made it four shortly after when Declan Jones saw his header thunder off the crossbar.
Driedyk then turned from provider to goalscorer, rising to head home. Veteran ace Driedyk wasn’t finished there, grabbing his second of the afternoon when he latched onto a Gwynfor Owen flick-on and finished calmly.
Town were unlucky not to add a sixth late on. Craig Moore forced an acrobatic save from the home keeper, and Troy Patrick had a goal ruled out for offside despite looking level.
