My North Wales women’s football dream team: Chelsea Evans (Northop Hall)

Chelsea Evans (yellow shirt) in action for Northop Hall

Chelsea Evans of Northop Hall is the latest footballer to choose her All-Time North Wales Women’s Football XI.

The young midfielder is the ninth player to select her dream team in this popular Grassroots North Wales series.

One of the best goalkeepers I’ve seen in the league. One of the nicest people you will meet off the pitch too.

Alison Leonard

Ali has taught me a lot and has helped me so much on the pitch. Great team player and controls the team well, the best person to captain a team.

Abbie Holland

Abbie (yellow and blue) on the ball

Abbie is one of the best defenders Northop has had. Calm on the ball, can strike the ball well and has scored a few worldies. She is quick and always puts a good tackle in at the right time. All this after being a Welsh international goalkeeper earlier in her career.

Erica Jones

Very difficult opponent to face. Always gets stuck in and is a really good defender. It’s not easy to get past her.

Tasha Kearney

Complete defender, always so calm on the ball and picks out a pass really well. A laugh off the pitch and really miss playing alongside her at Northop, such a good player.

Cerys Gadd

Another tough opponent to face, strong and controls the game in midfield. Good at attacking, creating chances and defending.

Laura Eagles

Laura like Ali has taught me a lot on the pitch and is always trying to help people and the team to get the best out of them. One of the best passers I’ve seen, always picks out the right pass.

Abby Williams

Controls the midfield at Airbus, solid player and seems like she knows how to get the team going.

Tegan Hewitt

One of the best young players I have seen. Quick on and off the ball and is difficult to stop on the attack.

Mari Gibbard

One of the best players I have ever seen play in the league, if not the best. Scores goals for fun and is really skillful.

Laura Pennington

Laura Pennington (right) celebrates winning the 2017-18 North Wales League title with Chelsea Evans

The best player I have ever played alongside. The season we (Northop Hall) won the North Wales League and the NEWFA Cup (2017-18) I lost count of the amount of goals she scored, got to be near 50 (48). A goal scorer and scores amazing goals, insanely good.
