City do not sign too many local players these days but they have landed one of the best in young Owen from tier 5 North Wales Coast West Division One club Llangoed.
Last season’s goalkeeper with Gwynedd League Ogwen Tigers joined Mark Thomas’ exciting squad at Llangoed in the summer, but now the tier 2 Citizens have come calling.
Owen also spent time with Bangor’s under-19’s last season and impressed City’s first team manager Hugo Colace, who now promotes him to the senior squad.
The young keeper said: “I’m so excited to be joining a team full of excellent players with a management team who have plenty of experience behind them.”
Colace added: “I’m very happy to be giving Shane this opportunity with the first team. He’s a local lad with a bright future and a great prospect for the club.
“It’s also a positive sign that our youth system is working well, as we see a youngster promoted.”
Goalkeeper Jamie, 21, is a chirpy person so perhaps it is fitting she has signed for the Canaries.
The student nurse, originally from Liverpool, played for Llanberis in North Wales Women’s League Division Two last season.
With that team now disbanding, Jamie has joined Caernarfon, who have enjoyed major success in women’s football over the years, but in recent times have been in a process of rebuilding with a lot of very young players being given an opportunity to shine.
Also a musician and singer, Jamie plays for Bangor University and cites her best moment in football as winning the Varsity in 2019.
Defender Hart, 28, is the latest Seagulls player to leave the club in order to return to playing football.
Signed from Airbus UK in June, Hart has been unable to make his Bay debut due to the shutdown of football from tier 2 downwards because of Covid-19.
A Chester-born player who progressed through the youth ranks at Preston North End, Hart signed a pro contract in May 2010, and represented Wales at schoolboy level in the Victory Shield and also at Under-17 and U-19 in the European Championships.
He first joined Airbus in 2012 and went on to have spells at Bangor City and then Llandudno, completing 137 WPL appearances and scoring 21 goals, before a brief spell at Flint prior to returning to Airbus in January 2019.
A return to Halkyn Road for the versatile Edwards, who has had two previous loan spells at Holywell.
Zebb is equally at home in defence or midfield. He was in the Prestatyn Town side that won the Cymru North last year.
One of four footballing brothers, he leaves Prestatyn along with elder sibling Kai, who moves to Flint.
The 29-year-old Edwards arrives at the Essity Stadium having won the Cymru North title with Prestatyn Town last season.
A former Wales Schoolboys captain, he enjoyed two seasons at Wrexham before spending 2010/11 at Prestatyn on loan.
He went on to play full-time with Neath and The New Saints in the Welsh Premier before returning to Wrexham in 2016 and making 22 first-team appearances for the Racecourse club.
In January 2017, he put pen to paper for Connah’s Quay Nomads, for whom he made 62 appearances and won the Welsh Cup, as well as helping the Deesiders qualify for Europe.
May 2018 saw Kai join Llandudno and a year later he returned to Prestatyn.
Edwards primarily plays in central defence but can also operate at right back or in midfield.
McCready made his debut for the Linnets in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Clitheroe.
The former Colwyn Bay skipper was the latest to leave the club in search of football.
Bay’s division, the Cymru North, is yet to see any action this season due to Covid-19, leading to a series of departures.
McCready had been a great player for the Seagulls since originally coming on loan from AFC Fylde, making 81 appearances and scoring 23 goals.
Previously, the 29-year-old played for Morecambe and Exeter City in Football League Two, as well as Altrincham, Chester and Airbus UK.
Midfielder who hails from Porthmadog joins tier 3 Blaenau for the 2020-21 season.
Formerly with Pwllheli and Bangor City Reserves.
Formidable centre-half Buxton joins the CPD army.
The new man brings plenty of experience to the dressing room and has settled in excellently with the lads.
Box to box midfielder delivers plenty of energy and a tough tackle to the centre of the park, as well as a sweet right foot.
Looks set to be a great asset for Sychdyn.
Talented Thomas has signed for the village.
At 16, he is a hot prospect with bags of ability and potential. He has previously played at Penycae Youth and Druids Academy.
Cameron can play on the wing or up front.
