Experienced manager oversees pre-season for Bangor City Women 1876

Former Bethesda Athletic and Beaumaris Town manager Chris O’Neal is currently holding the reins for Bangor City 1876 Women.

O’Neal is acting as temporary manager for the team, operating an overseeing role while the club works behind the scenes to appoint a new boss.

Last season’s manager, Aron Griffith, recently stepped down.

O’Neal led Bethesda Athletic to back–back Welsh Alliance League titles in 2007-08 and 2008-09 and previously won the NWCFA Junior Cup while at the helm with Beaumaris.

Although not involved in team management for sime time, O’Neal has remained active within North Wales football, including being a North Wales Coast FA councillor.

Hannah Owen joins

O’Neal recently announced that Bangor have added a top-class winger to their squad.

Hannah Owen moves over from Llandudno, who she had joined from Llangefni Town for the 2025/26 season.

She now becomes the second new arrival at the Bangor City Stadium for 2026-27, following her Ynys Môn team-mate Ellie Sian Jones.

A City statement said: “A dynamic winger, she arrives from Llandudno Ladies. Known for her direct play, energy, and strong work ethic. She’s comfortable taking on defenders and creating opportunities in the final third.”Hannah has contributed goals and assists throughout her career and brings great experience having represented Ynys Môn at the Island Games and played in the Adran North.
