Pwllheli Ladies the latest to switch North Wales leagues

Pwllheli Ladies FC

Pwllheli are the latest team to join the North East Wales FA run North Wales Women’s Football League this season.

That makes the membership of the league 15 teams, following Denbigh Town’s decision to also switch earlier this week.

Both Pwllheli and Denbigh were originally listed to play in the new North Wales Coast FA Women’s League, which is now reduced to just six possible teams.

The North Wales Women’s League could end up being one division of 15 teams or split into two sections. A decision could be made tonight.

One option for the North Wales Coast League to boost numbers was to recruit teams which played in the North Wales Ladies Recreational League last season.

However, it is thought the recreational teams are unable to commit to the NWCFA rule demanding 11-a-side football, so a stalemate exists.
