…..and now CPD Y Rhyl 1879 Ladies switch allegience

No sooner had Grassroots North Wales published that Pwllheli Ladies had decided to join the North Wales Women’s League than CPD Y Rhyl 1879 followed suit.

The North East Wales League run NWWFL confirmed the news tonight.

The NWWFL now has a 16-team membership, leaving the North Wales Coast League with just five clubs…..for now…..

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 Ladies formed as part of the phoenix club which replaced the long-running Rhyl FC, which folded in April.

Rhyl ran just one side in the North Wales League last season, the club having pulled what was its first team out of the Welsh Premier.

What happens regarding the NWCFA League now is unclear.

With a mere five teams remaining (unless they can form a bond with the former North Wales Ladies Recreational League), the Coast option is fast becoming non-viable.

The North Wales Women’s League are delaying a decision on whether to run one or two divisions until completely sure how many clubs will come under its wing.
