League round-ups: Vale of Clwyd and Conwy, Gwynedd, N E Wales and Anglesey

Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League

Rhuddlan Town’s unbeaten record was scuppered at the 16th hurdle as the Premier Division leaders went down 2-1 at Meliden.

Joe Newell and Jake Hughes found the net for the hosts, an own goal the only response from Rhuddlan, who remain 12 points clear at the summit.

Y Glannau were delighted with a 3-2 win at Llandudno Athletic, Jordan Davies-Jones, Gethin Whiteley and Josh McGilvery the away marksmen, Lee Stokes with two for the hosts.

Rhos United celebrated their first league win of the campaign at the 16th attempt as they outscored Llanelwy Athletic 4-2.

Ray Lee, Matt Christie, Tom Edgley and Tom Brady claimed one apiece for the hosts, Jo Lloyd and Dan Price netting for the losing team.

In Division One, unbeaten NFA regained top spot with an 8-0 demolition of Machno United, Danny Williams (4), Mathew Robinson (2), Jordan Taylor and Paul Jones sharing the goals haul.

Llandudno Amateurs Reserves were 5-2 winners at Rhyl All Stars, Steve Collins (2), Morgan Davies, Todd Davies and James Kane for the visitors, Lee Dudley and Ashley Parry registering for the hosts when they were 4-0 down.

Joel Rowlands poached a hat-trick and Morgan Jones a single as Denbigh Development swept aside Betws-y-Coed 4-1, Alex Evans with a penalty for the travellers.

Gwynedd League

Waunfawr had cause for celebration when they became only the second team to defeat Nefyn United in the league this season.

The Beganifs triumphed 3-1 over the Penwaig, Osian Glyn (pen), Adam Jones and Shaun Roberts with the home goals, Dylan Sion Jones replying from the spot for the visitors.

Reece Thompson and Leon Owen scored in Ogwen Tigers’ 2-1 win against Llannerchymedd, Mark Jones for the islanders.

Deion Hughes (2, 1 pen) and Tomos Jones split the goals as Bontnewydd saw off Glantraeth 3-1, James Ryan responding.

Caergybi were unable to raise a side for their scheduled trip to Bethesda Athletic.

North East Wales League

Top two Brymbo Victoria and Chirk Town dished out some punishment in the Top Mark Uniforms North East Wales League.

Vics hammered Penyffordd Lions 5-1 to remain in the number one spot, Paul Messham with a hat-trick, Joe Humphreys a single and Joe Henry found his own net, Ben Hughes with a late consolation for the visitors.

Chirk blitzed bottom side Bellevue 9-2, Tristan Lloyd, Anthony Jones (3), Matt Cooke, Caleb Davies, Shaun Morris and Tom Freeman (2) providing the home net-finders, Brandon Griffiths and Joao Da Silva hitting back for the ever-willing visitors.

Caerwys and Sychdyn played out a 2-2 draw. Elgan Hughes and Ryan Jones found the mark for the home side, Josh Robertson and a late Ollie Howarth leveller earning the visitors a point.

Anglesey League

Holyhead Hotspur Reserves advanced to the Unite the Union Dargie Cup Final at the expense of hosts Llanfairpwll.

Mike Edwards and Cameron Eaton bagged the all-important goals for Tom Scott’s men, Jack Davies for the hosts.

Y Fali moved into the next stage of the Huws Gray Megan Cup with a thrilling 4-2 win over Holyhead Town.

Dion Evans, Jack Peters and Mike Williams (2) did the damage for Valley, Charlie Diamond and Aidan Batsford the Harbourmen hitmen.

The Pentraeth Reserves v Cemaes Bay tie was postponed.

In the league, Mountain Rangers moved to within three points of leaders Cemaes Bay with a game in hand after a 5-1 whipping of Arriva Bangor.

Kevin Lloyd (3), Aaron Hughes and Declan Williams compiled the home total, Dylan Williams the away marksman.

Cefni defeated Bodorgan 3-0, Ben Wright (2) and Nathan Lewis splitting the goals.
