Female Football Focus 2020: Eleanor Thomas (Northop Hall)

As Sister Sledge once (nearly) sang – I Wonder Why….She’s the Greatest Dancer?
Almost every Northop Hall female focus subject chooses Eleanor Thomas as their ‘best dancer’ so she must be a top mover on and off the field.
Eleanor, 17, is also a consistent goalscorer for a much improved Hall side this season.
Full Name
Eleanor Thomas
Date of Birth
27th May 2002
First football memory
Growing up I always had a ball at my feet, but one of my first football memories was in primary school taking part in a Dragon Sports football tournament. This was the first football tournament I went to when I was young and from then on I knew I loved the game.
Football idol
My football idol is Lucy Bronze, even though she plays in a different position to me on the pitch I admire her work ethic and the mentality she has as an athlete.
Position
Centre forward
Most memorable game played in
Last season against Bethel at home. We won 4-3, it was a really tough competitive game. Loved every minute of it.
Biggest highlight of football career so far
In the under-14s for Northop Hall we came runners up in the league 2014/15 season.
Best goal scored
Has to be the volley I scored against Welshpool from outside the box. Hit it first time into the top right of the net. Shame it was a friendly match!
Strengths to your game
Probably my physical strength, heading and shooting.
Weaknesses
My fitness and attitude.
Best team-mate played alongside

There are many great players I’ve played alongside and some I am still playing with now. The best team player I have played alongside is Laura Eagles. Her ability to pick out a pass is outstanding and the way she reads the game is amazing to watch. Chelsea Evans is another great player that I play with. She takes on players with confidence and I can link up with her really well going forward.
