Sean Eardley will urge Caernarfon Town supporters to “dare to dream” of a first-ever Welsh Cup final appearance after the Canaries drew Cardiff Met University in the semis of the 2019-20 competition yesterday.
The Canaries secured a second semi-final spot in four years when they thrashed Cefn Druids 4-0 at The Oval on Friday night.
Standing in the Cofis’ way of a first final berth in their illustrious history will be the students from the capital, who caused a shock by eliminating 2018 cup winners and bang in form Connah’s Quay Nomads on Saturday.
In the other semi, Flint Town United or Prestatyn Town, who will attempt to play their postponed quarter-final tonight (Tuesday) will take on seven-times Welsh Cup winners and hot competition favourites The New Saints.
Following Monday night’s draw, Caernarfon chief Eardley said: “We played well in the quarter-final against Druids.
“Rambo (Alex Ramsay) has been called upon a few times in the first half, but in the second half, despite them going down to 10 men, we had many chances to add to the scoreline.
“Four goals, a clean sheet and now a tough game against Cardiff Met who will also look to go one step further than last year.
“We’re really looking forward to the game and the occasion for the supporters. We’ll give it our all and will dare to dream!”
