Holyhead Hotspur and Llandudno Albion will represent North Wales in the semi-finals of the 2019-20 FAW Amateur Trophy.

In today’s quarter-final matches, Hotspur triumphed 3-0 at Welshpool Town, while Albion got past Risca 2-0 at Maesdu Park.

Elsewhere, Denbigh Town were thrashed 4-0 at Baglan Dragons, while Brymbo went down 2-1 at home to Penydarren BGC.

Welshpool Town 0 Holyhead Hotspur 3

Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Hotspur made it 13 matches unbeaten as they coasted into the Trophy semi-finals at the expense of their Mid-Wales League hosts.
Darren Garmey’s side looked the better side from start and the only surprise at half time was that they did not lead by more than Corey Jones’ goal.
The second half saw the Holy Islanders strengthen their grip on the tie.
Chris Jones added a double to secure an away win, Robert Jones proving an outstanding performer on the day for the Welsh Alliance travellers.

Llandudno Albion 2 Risca 0

On the biggest day yet in their short but successful history, Albion saw off Welsh League high-flyers Risca to reach their first Trophy semi-final.
After a goal-less first half at Maesdu Park, skipper Joel Lloyd maintained his fine run of scoring by handing the hosts a 47th minute lead.
Risca were far from finished and the tie remained in the balance until the 81st minute, when James Hobson made it 2-0 with a 30-yard rocket.

Brymbo 1 Penydarren BGC 2

Two goals from the formidable Chris Colvin-Owens ensured Brymbo’s run in the Trophy came to an end at The Crick.
The big striker netted first in the 24th minute when he latched onto a defence-splitting pass before guiding the ball past the keeper.
And Colvin-Owens struck again in the 62nd minute when he cut in from the left-hand side of the box and his curling effort flew into the net with the aid of a deflection.
Brymbo produced a late reply through Vita Mbolokele, but it was Penydarren’s day.

Baglan Dragons 4 Denbigh Town 0

A very rare off-day for a Denbigh side which ended up well beaten by opponents two levels below them in the pyramid.
Under heavy pressure from the start, Town defended superbly initially until Jordan Evans headed home a 19th minute opener.
Moses Barnett had a great chance to equalise, but unselfishly tried to set up Mark Roberts and the opportunity was gone.
Evans made it 2-0 before the break, then seven minutes after the restart the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Barnett was dismissed for a second yellow card.
The dazzling Sam Lewis added a third on 55 and the tie was all but over.
Lewis made it a personal double after 74 and Denbigh’s misery was made complete when Roberts received a second yellow close to the end.
