Female Football Focus: Gemma Thomas (Trearddur Bay)

Gemma Thomas (white and blue) of Trearddur Bay outjumps the goalkeeper in this great action shot

Trearddur Bay may be complete newcomers to the women’s football scene but their defender Gemma Thomas certainly isn’t.

The 20-year-old was a member of the great Caernarfon Girls Under-16 squad of 2013/14 which won the Welsh girls football quadruple – including the top prize of the Welsh Cup.

The brilliant Lois Regan (front row – furthest left) lines up with Wales

Probably either Chloe Hughes or Lois Regan, glad they were on my team and I didn’t have to mark them, training was bad enough

Hardest opponent faced

Not sure on individual but Caernarfon v Prestatyn was always an interesting one

Biggest influence in football

My dad took me to every training and watched every game, and took me to see games. Probably wouldn’t have played if it wasn’t for him
